In five exhibitions per year, the gallery presents acclaimed photographers as well as young talents. The gallery regularly participates in art fairs. Last participation was in 2016 and 2017 at artKarlsruhe. The gallery has mounted over 170 exhibitions and published more than a dozen books and catalogs.
After 35 years of continuous gallery work with over 170 exhibitions in its own gallery spaces as well as in institutions and museums in many countries (Czech Republic, Russia, USA, Norway, Luxembourg), in focus Gallery - Burkhard Arnold changed its concept after May 27, 2022.
From June, 1st, 2022 in focus gallery, Cologne will work as a global dealer and offer online works of the artists represented in the past 32 years. The gallery's inventory includes many great photographs of both the great masters of post-war photography (such as: Elliott Erwitt, Marc Riboud, Willy Ronis, Bruce Davidson, René Groebli, Heinrich Heidersberger, Sabine Weiss, Arnold Newman, Bruno Bernard, Thomas Höpker, Jan Saudek, Ben J. Fernandez, and others) as well as works by contemporary and younger talents (such as: Thomas Kellner, Sissi Farassat, Scarlett Hooft Graafland, Anna Halm Schudel, Herbert Döring-Spengler, Gilbert Garcin, Alvin Booth, Connie Imboden, Abe Frajndlich, Claude Fauville, and others). If interested, we would be happy to arrange individual viewing appointments on ++49 177 3202913.
The gallery spaces will continue to be used as show rooms, where we will show about two or three exhibitions each year. Dates and opening times for these exhibitions are announced on this website under > Exhibition > current and sent out online by e-mail newsletter.
With this artist's work, we always quote prices net of German sales tax (MWSt. / VAT). Where applicable, VAT is added as part of the checkout process. VAT is only due on sales to customers in Germany and other European Union (EU) member states. The current rate of VAT is 19%. So where we ship this photograph to customers in the USA or other countries outside the EU (like Canada, Japan, Australia, Switzerland, Norway, Jersey etc ) there are no extra German taxes to add, and the price you see is the final price for the photograph. Any local import taxes are your responsibility. In many territories (eg the USA) there are no local import taxes on works of art.
