in focus gallery - since 1990

The in focus gallery was founded in January 1990 and shows photography in its whole range, classic journalistic-, portrait-, staged-, concept-, nature-, nude- and architecture photography (vintage and later prints) from 1945 up to today.
In five exhibitions per year, the gallery presents acclaimed photographers as well as young talents. The gallery regularly participates in art fairs. Last participation was in 2016 and 2017 at artKarlsruhe. The gallery has mounted over 170 exhibitions and published more than a dozen books and catalogs.

NEW:

After 32 years of continuous gallery work with over 160 exhibitions in its own gallery spaces as well as in institutions and museums in many countries (Czech Republic, Russia, USA, Norway, Luxembourg), in focus Gallery - Burkhard Arnold will change its concept after May 27, 2022.

From June 2022 in focus gallery, Cologne will work as a global dealer and offer online works of the artists represented in the past 32 years. The gallery's inventory includes many great photographs of both the great masters of post-war photography (such as: Elliott Erwitt, Marc Riboud, Willy Ronis, Bruce Davidson, René Groebli, Heinrich Heidersberger, Sabine Weiss, Arnold Newman, Bruno Bernard, Thomas Höpker, Jan Saudek, Ben J. Fernandez, and others) as well as works by contemporary and younger talents (such as: Thomas Kellner, Sissi Farassat, Scarlett Hooft Graafland, Anna Halm Schudel, Herbert Döring-Spengler, Gilbert Garcin, Alvin Booth, Connie Imboden, Abe Frajndlich, Claude Fauville, and others). If interested, we would be happy to arrange individual viewing appointments on ++49 177 3202913.

The gallery spaces will continue to be used as show rooms, where we will show a maximum of two exhibitions each year.

Dates for these exhibitions will be announced on this website and sent out online by e-mail newsletter. Visits arranged by email or telephone will replace continuous opening hours.
